Description:
This project involved the fast track phased refurbishment of the 2nd floor of the Jenner Building to enable the relocation of existing University departments to accomodate the creation of 15 new teaching rooms. Phase 1 provided new offices in which to relocate existing staff to enable corporate teaching areas to be delivered in time for the start of the teaching semester. Additional ancilliary works to the roof were also to be underatken concurent to the internal refurbishment works. The contract was procured via a JCT Intermediate Contract with quantified schedule of works.
Key Achievement:
- Undertaking extensive value engineering to core project to make the project budget go further, allowing additional areas of refurbishment works to be accommodated within the contract.
- Phase 1 delivered on programme and within budget, whilst still meeting the Client’s functional requirements. (Phase 2 in progress).
